How to vote

Town elections are decided by the neighbors who show up — often by a few hundred votes per seat. Here’s everything you need. Details like polling hours and early-voting windows are set by the Town Clerk, so treat their page as the final word.

Three steps

  1. Check your registration. Confirm you’re registered at your current Brookline address — it takes one minute at the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s voter lookup. Not registered yet? Register online; Massachusetts requires registration at least 10 days before the election.
  2. Pick how you’ll vote. Vote by mail (every Massachusetts voter can request a ballot — request yours here), vote early in person during the window the Town Clerk announces, or vote at your precinct’s polling place on Election Day.
  3. Find your polling place. Your precinct and polling location are on the Town of Brookline elections page, or use the state’s Where Do I Vote lookup. Polls in Massachusetts town elections are typically open from morning until 8:00 pm — confirm the hours with the Town Clerk.

School Committee — a town-wide race. Every Brookline voter can fill in the oval next to Priten Soundar‑Shah.

Town Meeting — elected by precinct. If you live in my precinct, I’m asking for your vote there too, because showing up for this town matters at every level. (Once candidate papers are certified, the precinct number will be right here.)
